Joseph Augustin

Joseph Augustin, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Regional Engineering College, Calicut (now NIT). Retired from BInani Zinc Ltd, as General Manager (SCM) in December 2014 after working for more than 38 years in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.


John Pius

He has extensive experienced in Freight Forwarding and Marketing having worked in Shipping companies and Port sector at DP world Cochin and Transworld Shipping. An MBA from Indian Maritime University in Port Shipping Management, he is currently pursuing part time Ph.D. in IMU (Maritime Management).


Jacob Mathew

He is a veteran in the field of Supply Chain & Logistics Management.Having more than 35 years experience in Public Sector & Private Sector in India as well as abroad, he is now well known in the realm of SCM fraternity.


Mary Sonia

Mr.Rajesh holds MBA (full-time, regular) from BSMED, Coimbatore. He is having experience in industry as well as in academics. He is a visiting faculty to various educational institutes.He is having specialized knowledge in the domains in which he is handling classes.


Veena

An MBA holder in Human Resource & Systems & B .Tech in Computer Science and Engineering . She has Profound knowledge of Logistics subjects (Management in logistics, Retail & Merchandising, Shipping Documentation, International Business).


Bindu Sajith

A qualified professional with an MBA, M.com and MSc degrees, she started her career in administration and also worked as human resource manager in an Offshore IT company. Later on in her career, she decided to pursue her passion in teaching and have acquired good knowledge and skills and has been teaching for the past 12 years.


Industrial Visits

Industrial Visit

We at SLMT believe in balancing theory and practical training. During the course duration we take our students for several industrial visits. Industry interface enables students to analyze and understand the ever changing dynamics of the industry. These visits provide students with adequate exposure in tackling live problems encountered in the working of an industrial entity.

This helps them receive industrial exposure from eminent public personalities in the world of Logistics. As part of a visit, students see work in progress and relevant demonstrations. Employers also talk to the students about career paths, job descriptions, the schooling needed to enter the field and what employers look for in employees. These visits are designed to provide students with firsthand knowledge of a working environment.

All the programs have been specifically designed to meet, not only the current and domestic, but also the future and global industry needs.

Students are encouraged to develop and take a critical and analytical approach of what they study in the class room. SLMT believes that transfer of learning from classroom to workstation is the hallmark of quality education.

SLMT employs a range of effective methodology to ensure quality:

  • Classroom teaching by eminent faculty involving lectures, PowerPoint presentations and handouts.
  • Stimulated situations and role-plays to give students an insight into understanding of responsibilities of various professionals involved in Logistics Industry.
  • Workshops are conducted for students to emphasize on problem-solving through interaction and exchange of information.
  • Students have access to Institute’s computer and Internet facilities, enabling them in data searches and computer-aided decision making.
  • Students have access to the well-stocked library on Logistics & Management with latest books, periodicals, newspapers, journals, prints and records are available for reading and references.
  • Case Studies are given to acquaint the students of real-life Logistics & Management situations and are asked to draw inferences and make suggestions.
  • Organizing industrial visits for students and faculty to various industries as recommended by the departments.
  • Compulsory internship program for all the students.

Student Mentorship Program

We at SLMT firmly believe in its philosophy of providing education at par with international standards through class room training and continuous exchange of information with industry professionals to foster professional excellence in design and execution of management skills of our students. In our endeavour to further our above philosophy we are pleased to announce one more initiative Students Mentorship program for our MBA – Logistics students’ fraternity. SLMT is the pioneer institute in launching the first of its kind initiative to help students gain maximum practical exposure from the industry.

Objective

The concept is conceived by SLMT to empower its MBA students with functional live experiences of industry experts and making them more adaptable to functional requirements- post program.

About Mentorship

Mentorship is a program long activity in which a student gets attached to a function specific expert for gaining real life experiences during his/her program. It provides an excellent opportunity to a student to value add his/her class room learning with real life learning from finest industry experts. Under the program, a student gets attached to an expert and he/she is required to spend mutually agreeable time with his/her mentor every month. The student is required to submit a detail report to his/her faculty summarizing his/her learning from such meetings within seven days of meeting with the mentor. A student is required to freeze his/her learning objectives and an agenda of the meeting at least one week prior to the scheduled meeting in consultation with his/her faculty who in turn will send the same to the mentor. The learning/ findings as recorded by a student will be measured by SLMT faculty on a scale of 1 to 10 and will assign marks to the student for this specific activity.

  • The program gives an opportunity to the mentor to share his/her functional experiences with the mentee and guide them to become a better professional tomorrow.
  • It provides them a platform to contribute to the noble cause of education.
  • It gives the mentor a status of adjunct (visiting) faculty in the concerned areas of specialization to supplement learning.
  • SLMT provides you with life time premier membership of SLMT body for Logistics Professionals.

Extra Curricular Activities

Extra Curricular Activities

SLMT provides a range of extracurricular activities for its students so that students excel both in the classrooms and outside. There are many facilities for the students to engage themselves in extra-curricular activities. Sports and cultural activities have become part and parcel of the campus life. The college has always encouraged students to take part in sports like athletics, swimming, basketball etc.

There is no dearth of activities for artistically and academically inclined students. Numerous associations and clubs provide a spectrum of competitions ranging from dancing, singing, painting, public-speaking, acting, quizzing and elocution. The students also bring out a College magazine twice a year where they publish literary and articles.

These activities teach real world skills that encourage life-long interests. They encourage teamwork and leadership skills, responsibility and discipline. Activities allow the students to boost their self-esteem as they learn to perform in something they enjoy. All enjoyable activities provide a source of stress relief.
